Enjoy your appointment with Kat in the serenity of her home studio: Relax within the walls of a log home filled with living greenery, deeply shaded by tall Spruce. Whitetail deer frequent the land and the abundant birds serenade a sense of calm & tranquility to augment the healing.
Thai Massage takes place on a comfortable floor mat, with the receiver (you, you lucky person) fully clothed in loose, comfortable pants and shirt. Cotton is best as it allows your body to breathe and is great to handle. PJs work well if you don't have lightweight cotton sweats or similar.
Whatever your body type, level of fitness or injury, Thai Massage is infinitely adaptable. Sessions are relaxing, gentle and nurturing or more intense and invigorating as appropriate. 90+ minutes gives the body sufficient time to unwind and absorb the healing messages its receiving, which is something our modern society rarely allows.
Thai Massage is an energy work in that the practice observes the philosophy upon which the art is based; the centre of energy in the human body is the hara, just below the navel. Sen or energy lines, radiate out from this point and it is along those lines that Thai Massage travels to move the energy in the body, remove blockages to energy flow, and to facilitate balance and harmony which creates strength, stability and good health.
A session will usually begin at the feet with some wonderful reflexology to connect the entire body, then proceed in a spontaneous intuitive dance of pressure and release, rocking and twisting, passive stretching and relaxation.
Thai Massage has been proven to be highly effective, in aiding injury recovery, increasing flexibility when partnered with regular constructive exercise, in reducing stress, high blood pressure and emotional trauma.
You don't need to be flexible, to do yoga or to be anything other than breathing in order to enjoy a Thai Massage with Kat!
