How should I prepare for my first session?
Come prepared to do nothing! Thai Massage is practiced on a comfy floor mat - all you have to do is lie down and breathe, Kat does the rest. Each session is tailored to you, in the moment - perhaps you are in need of support, compassionate care, a genuine hug - that's what the session will provide. Perhaps you are a more energetic individual in training, you need a more invigorating session to get your body tuned to the right note for running/riding/hiking/biking whatever you do. Whatever your current state of health, Kat will take this into consideration and provide a treatment session that is best for you.
Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?
Over the years, Kat has supported many clients in palliative care. Although this is a difficult time for anybody, the magical benefits of Thai Massage (or Table Massage) during chronic illness or disease are invaluable in providing both physical and emotional support.
What should I wear for Thai Massage?
If this is your first experience of Thai Massage, do not fret! Just grab your PJs (or comfy cotton pants & T-Shirt) and come on over. Loose, cotton clothing is recommended for comfort and ease. (Try to avoid synthetic yoga pants).
Kat will do the rest. If at any time you are uncomfortable we can curtail the session - that hasn't happened yet.
What should I expect from my first session?
Some people are so open in their bodies, so in tune with their own physique, that the effects of the first session can be quite dramatic. Many people will note a feeling of openness throughout their body, a looseness to limbs/joints that may have been absent for some time. Some will feel tired and in need of rest, others may be invigorated - it depends on the individual! Almost everyone will recognise a feeling of increased well-being and general 'glow' about themselves following a treatment.
