Thai & Table Massage - Yoga - Equestrian - Animal Care...
Kat hosts yoga sessions for all levels, she describes her teaching as "Kat yoga"... a combination of Iyengar-influenced alignment, Anusara energy, Kundalini vitality, deep relaxation, and fun in the flow of the moment.
Dance is an integral element of Kat's life; the practice of Thai Massage is a dance of compassion and fluid healing energy. Yoga flows freely into dance, dressage (another teaching skill Kat practices) has been described as ballet on horseback, and intuitive dance on or off stage is one of her favourite ways to celebrate existence.
En route to the world of massage, yoga and holistic health, Kat has amassed plenty of experience in the diverse world of business. She successfully held a variety of positions, from entry-level to Corporate Manager for the largest Technical Translations Firm on the planet prior to emigrating to Canada. In the search for new work in Calgary, Kat stumbled into the very beginnings of digital imaging and the internet boom. For ten years she managed an IT Company in Calgary providing Information Management and Digital Imaging services to multinational and domestic companies head-quartered in Calgary, becoming the first certified expert in the field in Western Canada.
Kat now balances a unique blend of services and expertise as the ebb and flow of life demands.

“Kat’s classes are something my husband and I both look forward to. Her structured format has room for flexibility, and as she has eyes in the back of her head, she is able to provide individual coaching and alternatives. Whatever your yoga goals, Kat seems to be able to fit them into a class that is both challenging and peaceful.” - G&J
Calibre Care
"My family was leaving for a two-week vacation to Mexico the end of February and were worried about our 3 dogs and home in Redwood Meadows while we were away. Kat Dancer was recommended to us and what a life saver. She looked after our home, leaving it cleaner on our return than it was when we left. Most importantly she took such excellent care of our three dogs. One very energetic young beagle, one old boy that requires regular medication and one 12 year old Labradoodle, who thinks she is a pup and had to share a bed with Kat. Kat sent us regular videos of our crew, which was a great comfort, knowing all was well back home. Her natural ability to care for and work with our animals was amazing.
If you are looking for a short-term home/ pet sitter you don’t have to look any further than Kat Dancer. She is definitely the one to call." - Greg M/Michelle M/Dean S
"We have known Kat for over 10 years and she has been house-sitting and dog-sitting for us for around five years. We
have found her to be very reliable, honest and trustworthy. She keeps the house better than I usually leave it and deals with any problems which may occur swiftly and efficiently. She has been known to plow the driveway in the winter after a heavy snowfall!
Her manner with the dogs (we have three at the moment, two German Shepard crosses and a black Lab / Blue Heeler
cross) is amazing. They absolutely adore her and are generally more excited to see her than they are us! She is very
outdoorsy and loves taking the dogs for long walks in the forest. They always get all the attention that they need and are very well cared for.
We cannot recommend Kat enough for any house sitting or pet sitting requirements you may have.
Nancy and Ian."
"It's my pleasure to recommend the services of Kat Dancer as a pet and house sitter.
Kat is a woman of integrity, good humor and 'good old fashioned' common sense. She's very capable of handling any
situation which may arise so owners can be worry free while away.
Her love of animals shows when she's with them and they respond in kind. Kat's training and skill with horses is a great gift to horse owners as well. Needless to say, I highly recommend Kat's services and am very pleased to have access to them for me and my senior 4-legged gal, as well.
Warm regards, Sharon Bayer"

EQUESTRIAN PLAY With Kat Dancer
The evolution of Kat's equestrian journey has been one of adventure and global travel, radical awareness and limitless fascination.
Kat's first rides were on Persian Arabians in the southern deserts of Iran in the early 70s.
On her return to the UK, limited funds were scraped together to allow for an hour's riding once every two weeks. This surprisingly did not satiate the horse-mad child and she was apprehended riding an unbroken three-year-old in someone's field in southern England with only a rope and a hope.
Persisting in the pursuit of equine happiness took Kat through many manifestations of the traditional English riding system, culminating in a BHS Instructor's qualification, transformed decades later into an Equestrian Canada Coach's License.
About 35 years ago, Kat saw Monty Roberts demonstrating his early join-up techniques. This had a significant impact. Over the years, the world of horse-and-human has evolved with so many other amazing horse people sharing their experience and understanding of how the equine mind and communication systems work.
Kat's desire to develop and sustain a harmonious relationship with her horse fueled many hours of studying the likes of Ray Hunt, Buck Brannanam, Tom Dorrance, Joe Hughes, Tristan Tucker, Lockie Phillips, and Warwick Schiller.
Each interaction with a horse is a two-way conversation that is different every time. Bringing horses into a more peaceful space so they are better equipped to deal with existence in a human world is a wonderful thing. Being able to bring humans into this space too and to see the blossoming of communication and compassion is awesome.
Kat feels this evolution of Equestrian play is another form of Yoga. Yoga means Union - the harmonious connection of mind - body - spirit. This is what we work towards with the horse.
With this consensual approach to horsemanship we are practicing KARMA YOGA; the essence of unconditional love, action without expectation, giving without thought of reward. When the rewards happen through the horse, the realization of 'success' is profound. We are also practicing physical yoga in using our bodies to support the horse, whether grooming, stable work, ground work with the horse or riding when possible. These activities are all expressions of yoga in action when done with mindfulness, gentleness, compassion and empathy.
This practice helps us cope with the rest of our lives, the challenges that crop up every day, our interpersonal relationships, family relationships, work, everything.
